Electrical panel assembly: what to include in an enquiry?

A clear project enquiry helps define the assembly scope. Learn what information about the application, enclosure and documentation to provide at the outset.

22 września, 2026

A panel assembly quotation starts with understanding what the cabinet needs to do. A clear description of the operating conditions, equipment and delivery scope makes it easier to identify which points need clarification before work begins.

Information to gather

  • the purpose of the cabinet and the equipment or installation it will serve;
  • the electrical schematic and current equipment list;
  • available dimensions, mounting method and installation location;
  • environmental conditions, such as indoor or outdoor installation, dust, moisture or temperature range;
  • the requested scope: assembly, enclosure, documentation, labels or agreed inspection activities.

If the project is still being developed, identify which details are approved and which remain open. This avoids assumptions about components, dimensions and installation conditions. Requirements for a specific switchboard should follow its design and intended use.

Documentation helps define the scope

Schematics and equipment lists are a useful starting point. For more complex assemblies, layout drawings, terminal lists, marking requirements and enclosure data may also be helpful. Share current revisions so that the quotation and follow-up discussions refer to the same project version.
